Laugh It Off: A Free Breast Cancer Awareness Comedy Night in Miami Gardens on October 17
Laugh It Off returns to the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex on October 17.
Sometimes the best medicine really is laughter. On Saturday, October 17, the City of Miami Gardens hosts Laugh It Off! Healing Through Laughter, a breast cancer awareness comedy night with three stand-up comedians at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex. Here is everything you need to know.
Laugh It Off! Healing Through Laughter Comedy Show: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Where: Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th Street. Tickets: Free, with registration through Eventbrite. Listings show spots going fast.
Who's on stage
Three comedians are booked for the night: Kyle Grooms, Steve Brown, and Tight Mike Randolph. The show is presented as a breast cancer awareness fundraiser under Councilwoman Michelle Powell's banner, using stand-up to bring people together around support and connection.
Why it matters
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and events like this one are about more than jokes. They give survivors, families, caregivers, and neighbors a night to come together, laugh, and remember they are not alone. They are also a reminder to keep up with screenings.
Laugh It Off has become an annual Miami Gardens tradition. Last year's show was held at Florida Memorial University, and this year it returns to the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, where it was held in 2024.
Plan around FSU night
October 17 is also the biggest football night of the year at Hard Rock Stadium, with the No. 3 Canes hosting Florida State at 7:00 p.m. Stadium parking opens around 2:00 p.m., so expect heavy traffic in the area from mid-afternoon. Give yourself extra time, and consider routes that avoid the roads closest to the stadium. Our FSU vs. Miami guide has more on game-day timing.
How to go
Register early
The show is free, but registration is required through Eventbrite, and listings show spots going fast. Reserve your seat before Saturday.
Bring friends and family
Comedy is better with company. Wear pink if you'd like to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Arrive early
Doors and seating may fill up before the 6:00 p.m. start, especially with game traffic nearby.
Take care of yourself, too
