Step 1: Before you leave home
Load your FIFA FAN ID and ticket on your phone. You need both. Screenshot them as backup in case the app fails or cell service is overwhelmed near the stadium (it will be congested with 65,000 people). Make sure your phone is fully charged and bring a portable charger.
Confirm your transportation plan. You have three options, covered in detail below: the free shuttle, pre-purchased parking, or rideshare to an offsite shuttle lot. There is no fourth option. You cannot drive to the stadium and park without a pre-purchased FIFA parking pass. You cannot be dropped off at the gates by Uber.
Pack your clear bag. Hard Rock Stadium enforces a clear bag policy. Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and not exceed 12" x 6" x 12". One clear bag per person, plus a small clutch. Everything else gets turned away at security, and there is no bag check.
Pack these items:
| Bring | Why |
|---|---|
| Empty clear water bottle (up to 1L) | Free refill stations inside. June heat is brutal. |
| Rain poncho (not umbrella) | Umbrellas BANNED. Afternoon storms likely. |
| Sunscreen (apply before) | UV index 11-12. You'll be in line in full sun at 3 PM. |
| Portable phone charger | Ticket, FAN ID, GPS all on your phone. |
| Cash (small bills) | Backup for concessions if card systems lag. |
Dress for the heat. It will be 89-91°F at gate opening (3 PM), feeling like 100°F+ with humidity. Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing. A hat. Comfortable shoes you can stand and walk in for hours. Your team jersey is perfect. Full weather guide here.
Step 2: Getting there
Option A: The free shuttle (best for most people)
FIFA operates free shuttle buses from offsite locations directly to the stadium, running from 3.5 hours before kickoff (2:30 PM) until 2 hours after the match ends. You must scan your match ticket before boarding. The shuttle hubs:
| Hub | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Glades | Miami Gardens residents | Closest, 10 min south, opposite traffic flow |
| Aventura (Brightline) | Visitors by train | Brightline End Zone Express, ~15 min to gates |
| MLK Metrorail Station | Transit from Miami | Metrorail extended hours on match days |
| Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood | Broward visitors | From the casino/hotel complex |
If you're parking at a shuttle lot, you must pre-purchase that parking too. The shuttle ride itself is free, but the lot may require a parking reservation. Check miamifwc26.com for the latest on each hub. Our complete shuttle guide is here.
Option B: Pre-purchased parking
If you're driving, you must have purchased a parking pass in advance directly from FIFA's official parking website. Key rules:
Only verified ticket holders can buy parking. Parking is NOT available for purchase at the stadium on match day. Only vehicles with valid FIFA parking passes will be allowed through the road closures surrounding the stadium. Parking gates open at 2:00 PM (4 hours before kickoff). Passes cost $100-$300 depending on the match.
If you haven't bought a parking pass by now, this option is likely closed for tomorrow. Switch to the shuttle or rideshare plan.
Option C: Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, taxi)
Rideshare and taxis will not be permitted to drop off near the stadium. All such vehicles are directed to a designated offsite lot, where you board a free shuttle to the stadium. Important: after the match, expect heavy surge pricing and long waits for rideshare due to demand and congestion. FIFA encourages fans to use rideshare to reach an official shuttle location rather than attempting direct stadium drop-off.
Step 3: Timing your arrival
Gates open at 3:00 PM, three hours before the 6:00 PM kickoff. Arrive early. Here's why this matters more than usual: this is the first World Cup match at this stadium, security is the tightest it has ever been, and the 2024 Copa America final at this same venue started 80+ minutes late due to crowd control failures at the gates. FIFA and law enforcement have promised tighter entry procedures this time, which means more checkpoints and more time to get through them.
| Time | What to do |
|---|---|
| 2:00 PM | Leave home / arrive at shuttle hub |
| 2:30 PM | Shuttles begin running |
| 3:00 PM | Stadium gates open. Aim to be in line now. |
| 3:00-4:30 PM | Clear security checkpoints (multiple) |
| 4:30-5:30 PM | Find seat, refill water, grab food |
| 5:30 PM | Pre-match ceremony |
| 6:00 PM | Kickoff |
Ticket holders pass through multiple ticket and security checkpoints to enter. Expect heavy law enforcement and security presence, including (as DHS confirmed) federal officers. Carry your ID and documents. Know your rights. Stay calm and patient at checkpoints.
Step 4: Inside the stadium
Refill your water immediately. Find a refill station as soon as you're in. In this heat, hydration is not optional. The stadium canopy covers most seats from sun and rain, but the concourses and entry areas are exposed.
Know the cashless policy. Hard Rock Stadium is cashless for concessions and merchandise. Bring a card or phone payment. The cash recommendation above is purely a backup in case of system delays.
Find your section early. 65,000 people are finding their seats at the same time. Locate yours, then explore. Restrooms and concession lines get long close to kickoff and at halftime.
The match: Uruguay, coached by Marcelo Bielsa, are two-time World Cup champions with stars like Federico Valverde and Darwin Nunez. Saudi Arabia, who famously beat Argentina in 2022, come in under new coach Georgios Donis after a coaching change in April. Group H also includes Spain and Cape Verde, so this match matters for qualification. Full team profiles here.
Step 5: Getting home
The shuttle runs until 2 hours after the final whistle. If you came by shuttle, head back to the same pickup point. Don't linger too long, the last shuttles leave roughly 2 hours post-match (around 10:00-10:30 PM for a match ending near 8 PM).
If you drove, expect significant congestion leaving the parking areas. The Clean Zone road closures ease gradually as crowds disperse. Patience is the only strategy. Have water in the car.
If you're using rideshare, walk to the designated rideshare shuttle lot rather than trying to get picked up at the stadium. Expect surge pricing. Consider waiting 30-45 minutes for prices to settle if you're not in a rush.
For residents who live near the stadium
Even if you're not going to the match, tomorrow affects you. The Clean Zone activates in the early afternoon. Here's your plan:
Run all errands before 1:00 PM. Groceries, pharmacy, gas. Once the Clean Zone activates and road closures begin, getting around the stadium area becomes difficult.
Keep proof of residency in your car. Driver's license with your address, or a utility bill. You may need it to get through checkpoints to reach your home.
Avoid NW 199th Street and NW 27th Avenue from early afternoon through late evening. Use alternate routes.
Expect noise, helicopters, and crowds. This is normal for an event of this scale. It eases after the match.
If you don't have a ticket: where to watch
Remember: you cannot go to the stadium without a ticket. But you have great free options:
FIFA Fan Festival at Bayfront Park. Free, giant screens, downtown Miami. Metrorail to Government Center. Open daily through July 5.
Broward watch parties at Amerant Bank Arena. Free, in Sunrise.
Local restaurants and bars. The match is on FS1. Find a spot with screens in our restaurant guide.
Home. FS1 on TV, or stream free on the FOX One and FOX Sports apps. Full TV guide.
